I think that because of the Agency's quiet Friday that we should be to continue to be a part of the culture of NASA follow suit with NASA customers.

I personally greatly enjoyed this benefit. It was one of the best benefits of this position because it opened the door to a number of things that will now no longer be available. There was never an issue with my customers about this as they were on the same schedule.

My customers follow the NASA AWS schedule and following an AWS aligns with the NASA mission. Having a quiet Friday also allows us to do doctor's appts, travel, etc., without using PTO/Sick time during normal business hours which hurts us and the customer if we do take off during normal working hours. An AWS is one of the perks that employees enjoy and a lot of employees across the arsenal have outside NASA even. Having an AWS has helped me tremendously as an employee and a perk I look for while searching for employment. I think it will help retention and recruitment as a lot of arsenal employees look for this nowadays. Additionally, supporting an empty office for a whole day isn't helping the NASA mission or employee happiness, while working longer hours daily like they do will help the NASA mission, which is our main goal. I think we should strive for quality support during their normal working hours over making our own schedule that doesn't align with the NASA schedule. I do feel the AWS should only be on quiet Friday and maybe making the times something like 7:30-5 or 7-4:30 is something that would align with most customers if that was the original problem (people using other days off or starting extremely early and leaving early). That would be a good compromise at least to keep both sides happy and to support the NASA mission in the best way possible.
