We, the undersigned, appeal to the School Board of Hollis Grade School to reconsider the vote to discontinue 5th and 6th grade boys basketball and 5th and 6th grade Cheer program. We believe that the opportunity to engage in competitive activities at this age is critical for development of important socialization skills, including teamwork, self-discipline, and dealing with adversity. Furthermore, we feel this decision was made without proper notification of the community and ample consideration of community input.
