RAMADAN (Eid al-Fitr) and Eid al-Adha are significant religious holidays observed by many families in the Middletown community. These days are marked by prayer, reflection, and celebration.
Given the growing number of Muslim students, teacher's and staff in the district, adding Eid to the school calendar would reflect Middletown’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. It would also align with practices already adopted by other districts across the country.
Recognizing these holidays ensures that school policy respects the cultural and religious practices of all students and families.
It’s time for Middletown Public Schools to take this step toward meaningful representation.
My best friend celebrates Ramadan, and she is one of the best people I’ve ever met. She saved my life she deserves respect.
