Voters made a serious mistake in electing Steven Nelson to the Mountain View Whisman School District Board. It is time to end our long community nightmare. It is time to Recall Nelson.
The growth of this movement confirms that our community demands a change in district leadership. This momentum indicates that the public is ready to move toward a more accountable school board.

There is no place for bullies on or off school grounds. How can we call someone a TRUSTEE when we cannot TRUST him to act like an adult. Get this rude man who cost our kids 1/4 of a million dollars in funds!

My kids are grown now, but I have been horrified reading the reports of what has been going on in the district since Steve Nelson was elected.

This trustee is not fulfilling his duty. Students needs must come first. Nelson is divisive just to be divisive during meetings. City employees and community members have felt threatened by while he is acting in his role. This is not leadership and definitely not for the good of Mountain View.

Some people believe that Mr. Nelson is just a member who does not "rubber stamp". However, the truth is that he is abusive, combative, and has ruined any collaboration on this Board. Our students deserve a better mentor and a Board member who will support them.

I have seen that during board meetings Steve Nelson is offensive to the point where it is highly detrimental to the functioning of the board, and intimidating to the public.

We are at a critical juncture with the arrival of our new superintendent and the unfortunate reality both principals at Stevenson PACT and Theuerkauef have announced they are both leaving. Mr Nelson has to be removed in order for our school community to flourish and move forward with making important decisions that impact our children's future.

Unfortunately, Mr. Nelson consistently demonstrates an attitude that seems to undermine the very goals that have been placed before the board. With all due respect, I do feel that his presence is a hindrance to the wise and timely handling of the current challenges in our district.

Nelson sets a horrid example for the district and community. There is no way for some that is voted in to this position to be put in a role of leadership who lacks the common sense to treat others with respect: Other board members as well as the community. An elected official is elected to serve the community not feed one's own ego and personal agenda. It is a mistake to put a position of leadership or power with someone who cares only for his position above the needs of the community. Nelson's narcissism and consumption of himself not only hurts the other board members but affects our school district as a whole and most importantly our children! Since Nelson can't play well with others he needs to be ejected from his position immediately!
