We the undersigned, request the recall/removal of Coun. Tanille Johnston from the City of Campbell River city council. During her time in council, she has caused substantial problems for the downtown business community and it's employees (including children), and has now used her position as a candidate for a Federal Party to attack local small businesses due to a differing of opinion politically. As businesses continue to recover from loss of income due to the Federal Government pandemic restrictions, and now from the Canada/USA tariff dispute, she has used members of her party, and political partners from around Vancouver Island to disrupt the lives of our local business community. She is the only councillor to want open drug use downtown, and openly supports the continued failed programs for mental health and drug addiction that the province has put the City and it's citizens through. She cares not for independently owned businesses, completely ignores the safety of employees which includes students who are spit on, attacked, threatened, and put in other unhealthy situations due to her complete lack of understanding. Her lack of any understanding of the situation, as well as day lighting on two government levels has clearly shown she is unfit to serve on multiple areas of importance for the citizens of the region. She shows little interest during city council debates while often just staring at her laptop not even paying any attention to other councillors or presenters, she ran unsuccessfully to be chief of her band, and now she has taken time away from council to run for a Federal Party. It's very clear from this pattern of behaviour that she is not interested at all in her duties as council, but in seeking positions of power for her individual career.

I am looking at these numbers and my heart is racing because we are just about to hit the two hundred and fifty mark which is honestly wild considering where we started. If everyone who is reading this could just get one more person to put their name down we would blow right past this goal and really start making some noise for the council meeting.

As a local business owner I am concerned that this lady would call for the boycott of my buisness because I do not align with her politics. Very unprofessional!

Supporting an open drug policy and naming businesses to boycott because they do not believe in her political stance/party is not only unacceptable, but shows her lack of care for people in the City of Campbell River.

I voted for her for city council. Asking others to boycott local business (in affiliation with others who are campaigning for her) she definitely should be asked to step down as a local council member.

After watching this candidate break Canada elections act 282.8(a) and BC Local government act ,section 162, i do not see this as a person fit to run in public service

It's wrong for a council member to call for a boycott of businesses whose business licenses and taxes pay her salary as a city council member and because of political beliefs.

Ambitions aside, trying to damage local businesses is a no go zone as a council member. Whether she authorized it or not, it was still part of her campaign.
