Given that the Gov of Texas has removed any/all mask mandates across the state, the parents and students of Frisco ISD deserve to see a mask/no mask vote from their elected leaders as soon as possible so that families can make alternative arrangements for the 2021-22 school year if necessary. When pressed, members either pass the responsibility onto the TEA (which has given FISD the free-will to make their own decision for the district) or have largely ignored the parents and students. Voters/taxpayers/parents/students all deserve a recorded vote on allowing our students to choose whether or not they want to continue to wear a mask or to breathe freely. It should be a personal choice.

I have spent the last few days reaching out to board members directly to demand the transparency we were promised. Many are still hiding behind vague excuses about state guidance despite knowing the authority rests entirely in their hands.

Reaching this level of momentum proves that families in our district are finally finished with being ignored by the board. Seeing so many of you demand the freedom to choose for our children gives me hope that change is coming.

Unmask our children. You are breaking the law by forcing medical equipment on our children when you are not a physician. You are also breaking Texas school code.
Rene has been an excellent school board member. Some of her opponent's supporters like to paint her as a liar and something that she is not. I don't think that our kids need to be masked anymore, but I think that this group needs to lay off of individual members of our board. They have managed Covid very well and Rene in particular has been very responsive to concerns and questions. I will be voting for her in this election cycle.
Board seems to just rubber stamp whatever the superintendent wants to do.

Frisco can no longer be a top rated school district when every corner parents turn is a dead end to transparency. This is a personal matter where families should have a right to choose!
