The school board made masks optional for the 2021/2022 school year. Parent's made their choice and it was not the one the school board wanted or expected. On August 23rd, 2021 five days into the school year they held a vote to make masks mandatory without letting parents know, leaving parents unable to voice their concerns. The five board members decided they know whats best for our children and we should have no say in decisions regarding our children. This petition is to the city of Ravenna Ohio's school board demanding the masks be optional and the choice left up to the parents who know what's best for their child.

I have requested the formal transcripts from the board meeting and am currently coordinating with legal counsel to review the vote procedure. We are drafting a letter that outlines the lack of public notice and demands a formal reconsideration of the mandate.

The current momentum confirms that the board must address this lack of transparency regarding policy changes. I am now finalizing a formal request for a dedicated public hearing to discuss the restoration of parental choice.

The mask does not protect you from getting or giving away any virus according to the outside of the package the mask comes in. Clearly states this
Thank you to the five board members who think they know what’s best for MY child. YOU are there to teach NOT to make health decisions for anyone’s child! I suggest you pay monthly health insurance on her and ALL students since you think you know what’s best health wise for them.
It should be up to the parents and not the school on whether or not our children should wear masks during school.
Wearing masks is more harmful than whatever suppose to protect u from and it doesn't help anyway.
I have 5 children that attend Ravenna city schools and I feel that any choices that should be made that are in my children's best interest are up to them and myself! Not anyone else. The fact that you took action to make masks mandatory without any concern or thought to the parents of THEiR children is unbelievable!
It's not safe for these kids to be wearing masks so stop forcing them

Sorry but masks on children is child abuse! Do you seriously believe that masks work? This is about control not Covid!
