The city finally conceded and approved the expansion of the Mitchell Park library. We forced them to listen to the community instead of ignoring our infrastructure needs. Keep watching the council because we have to make sure they actually break ground.

Updates

October 23, 2006

The City Council thinks they can ignore us if we stay quiet. Get this to two hundred fifty signatures right now so they have no choice but to look at our demand for a real library.

September 22, 2006

The City Council keeps ignoring our desperate need for a modern Mitchell Park library while they waste time on bureaucratic nonsense. I am tired of their constant foot-dragging and their excuses about budget constraints when our community hub is falling apart. Do not let them sweep this project under the rug.

I hope they actually include more study rooms. The lines are always insane.

About time. This library is a total dump compared to other branches in the bay area.

The current library is way to small for how many people live here now. My kids need a place to do homework that isnt crowded.
