The Evanston branch library system is once again under tremendous scrutiny and possible danger of extinction. We, the undersigned, feel strongly that this unique branch system serves the community well in a way that a central library never can, in bringing the available programs, books and resources to the community in a way that is easily accessible. We support the branch system and eagerly encourage its continued success. We encourage the city council to provide us with more time to explore other private/public funding opportunities and allow for a reprieve of at least one year to look into other funding options before eliminating the branches from the budget.
