We the people and friends of Ireland, by signing this petition, declare that RTE has lost our complete and total trust. We declare that it is not adhering to its own mission statement (as outlined below) and is not providing the people of Ireland with independant, unbiased news. We demand it to report the real news and become truly independant from the government or step down as national broadcaster. We will not pay any TV license to a corrupt and deceitful organisation that does not put the people it is supposed to be serving first!

As stated on their website: RTÉ’S VISION IS TO GROW THE TRUST OF THE PEOPLE OF IRELAND AS IT INFORMS, INSPIRES, REFLECTS AND ENRICHES THEIR LIVES. RTÉ’s mission is to: • Nurture and reflect the cultural and regional diversity of all the people of Ireland • Provide distinctive programming and services of the highest quality and ambition, with the emphasis on home production • Inform the Irish public by delivering the best comprehensive independent news service possible • Enable national participation in all events They also state on their website: RTÉ Authority Under the terms of the Broadcasting Authority Act, 1960 and subsequent legislation, RTÉ Authority members are appointed by the Government for a period not exceeding five years, with membership numbering between seven and nine members, one of whom the Government appoints as chairman..... RTÉ is a statutory corporation established under the Broadcasting Authority Act, 1960.... How on earth are we supposed to recieve independant and unbiased information on Government issues given these facts?
