Fair Reporting requests the BBC to release the Balen Report to satisfy public concern of bias against Israel in reporting on the Middle East
We the undersigned
believe that the recent BBC news coverage (TV, Radio, Online) of
the Gaza conflict has been extremely anti-Israel in content. This
has created an atmosphere in the United Kingdom which has directly led to
an exceptional increase in attacks, both verbal and physical, on Jewish
individuals, places of worship, other properties and businesses. The BBC,
by virtue of its skewed coverage, bears some degree of responsibility for such
criminal behaviour.
The Balen Report was
commissioned in 2004 to investigate and report on biased news coverage in
relation to Israel and has never been published. Indeed the BBC has
spent hundreds of thousands of pounds of taxpayers money in its attempt to
prevent and conceal its publication, suggesting potentially damaging content.
In the wake of the report we believe that the BBC has retained
an anti-Israel reporting agenda which in turn is leading to anti-semitic,
criminal activity.
Therefore we now ask for:
a) the complete publication of the Balen Report and
b) independent investigation of BBC reporting on Israel to expose anti Israel bias since the Balen report to date
The purpose of the Petition is to determine if the BBC has, and is acting within its Charter and to expose biased media reporting.

These answers which you have tried to evade showing a spotlight on using thousands of pounds of licence payers money are disgracefully in contempt of public scrutiny.We demand you show them now in the Public arena!
Where is the 'freedom' in the Freedom of Information Act if there has to be a wait of ten years for the publication of the Balen Report. It does not take that long for the ink to dry surely! Please let us see the Report.
When I watch the BBC coverage regarding Israel I see that the BBC has no concern for truth or facts, just their own anti-Israel, left-wing bias and I wonder why I am forced to pay for a TV Licence. The BBC reporting is an absolute disgrace.
as a parent of children that live in Israel and who experienced the bombardment of continual rocket attacks for many years I absolutely object to the continual unfair reporting by BBC. You should be ashamed of your unfair baised coverage.
the BBC has lost all credibility in its reporting of operation Protective Edge. It does almost nothing to present the suffering on the Israeli side and simply falls for propaganda fed to it by Hamas which manipulates the media under duress and the gun.

It was deeply saddening to sense the rise of anti-Israel feeling during the summer month,s and I was particularly shocked by the harsh style adopted by some interviewers when questioning respected Israeli Diplomats on Newsnight.
