I have finalized the formal proposal for the name change and will be submitting it to the district board office tomorrow morning. This documentation includes the testimonials provided by former athletes to demonstrate the lasting impact of his coaching legacy. I will provide a summary of their response once the office has reviewed the material.

The increase in support has moved this request into the center of the upcoming administrative review. I am finalizing the formal proposal for the district board and expect a meeting confirmation by the end of the week.

As a King City kid, I played for Coach Militano in both Pop Warner and high school. As a young man, I am proud to say I was an assistant coach under Militano at both Soledad and Greenfield. At Soledad, back in 1999, he built the program from the ground up: a competitive and respected varsity team with zero seniors in it's first year...the school just opened. As both a player and assistant coach, from Coach Militano I learned the meaning of pride and the importance of a positive mental attitude, balanced with a healthy sense of humor.
Long over due, Ron started this south county Jamboree with two teams Soledad & Greenfield, King City & Gonzales joined soon after

What a great coach! He put me in the game against Gonzalez with an undefeated season on the line. He had confidence in his coaching and in me! I deflected 2 passes in the 4th qtr and I remember coach on the bottom of the dog pile when time expired! I'll never forget that moment!
Gave me my first high school coaching job
Had the privalege of playing for Coach Milatano while at Greenfield High.
His style of football was exciting high school football. His style was unique and did a lot for the program's he was involved in. Honor his name as one of the few to make a change and succeed.

Coach Militano was a special guy to a lot of kids in South County. I was lucky to have him as a coach from 7th grade through high school. He pushed me in both athletics and scholastics. I have a lot of respect for him and having his name attached to the jamboree would be honoring over two decades of kids who played under him through out south county. I know I'd be proud of it.
