Stop punishing children for being children. Start teaching the whole child. No more taking away recess. Movement matters!

Health and wellness encompass all aspects of school. It is very difficult to be academically successful if you aren't physically and mentally healthy.

Lack of health (all dimensions) is an immediate detriment to learning, impacting motivation, ability to process and retain. You can build all other curricular considerations - in vain. If students are not in a position to learn, it is erroneous to think they can be successful. This is true during school age, but also considering the life skills (balancing health considerations) which will be necessary for a fruitful life.
