Dear Regional District of Central Okanagan, Municipalities of Vernon, Kelowna and Lake Country,

I have signed this petition to make you aware that I, in consideration of the development of the Rail Trail and its usage within the local community have the opinion that it should be open to the horse riding community, I am either a horse owner/rider, have family that ride, friends that ride, and/or a layperson who understands that horses and horse riding contributes to the recreation, health and well being of our youth and the community at large.

thank you for bringing your attention to our Voice in this matter

Seeing this kind of momentum reminds me of all the quiet mornings I spent on the trail with my own horse. It brings me immense peace to know so many of you value keeping this space accessible for riders like us.

My own horses have been part of my family for years and I need to see them included on these trails. Please send this link to your riding buddies right now so we can hit our next target before the council meeting.

Great to see this petition...Of course the trail must accommodate horses! It's the Okanagan! The trail should be constructed with fine grade crush...It is easier on horses, slows down bikes and is less damaging to the environment

As a horse back rider and accessing trails, I have done more than my part to maintain trails as well as clean up garbage and damage by non horseback riding folks. Unbelievable that a horses aren't allowed on these trails. It affects me as a bc citizen deeply.

I am a horse owner/rider. It's important to keep trails open for riding. The horse industry benefits many people in all sorts of ways. Horse lovers enjoy the outdoors and sport as well as we spend a lot of money locally and afar.

The more we share the trails, the more access we all have to BC back country and linear trails. Just as we share the roads with all kinds of drivers and vehicles, it is possible to share our trails. Anne, Kelowna

I believe every trail should be accessable to horses , they built most of the early ones , We are having the same problem with a donated trail here in the Slocan Valley, like your petion gives me an idea to do the same

Even though I don't live close to the Rail Trails I do support the use by all user groups including equestrian (riding and driving). These activities have been part of our heritage and culture for 100's of years and should not be excluded.
