Equestrians just like cyclists and walkers should have the right to enjoy this trail. Excluding such a large group of people would be an injustice. There is more then enough room on that trail for everyone to enjoy it. Wether you are a pedestrian, cyclist or equestrian.

I'm very disappointed this needs to come up for discussion, AGAIN! Horses are part of this province's heritage and I've never run across a family who didn't LOVE to see horses on the trail! I, and most of the equestrians I know, almost always stop and let the kids (and often the adults too!) pet my horse and ask questions about them. I know that for many people it's a real highlight of their day to have a chance to interact with a horse and add to their outdoor experience, so I am mystified as to why our elected gov't officials would allow paid civil servants to make decisions depriving the public of such a wonderful experience?
And seriously, can this trail even technically qualify for the status as a multi-use trail and gain benefit (ie gov't grants etc) when it is not truly a multi-use trail? Someone needs to rethink this omission of the equestrian user group(s) as the real and economic benefits of working with us vs. exclusion is significant!

Anyone that wants to close this trail havent a clue about horses. You can use horse poop on your garden but not dog poop. Which is worse for the wilderness. It also doesnt stink as bad and it is easy to wipe off your shoes.

Great to see this petition...Of course the trail must accommodate horses! It's the Okanagan! The trail should be constructed with fine grade crush...It is easier on horses, slows down bikes and is less damaging to the environment

The Okanagan has a huge horse community, and it's important to give them access to public land. There are many volunteer groups who can work together with government bodies to ensure that the trails are maintained properly for multi-use as well. Just get in touch with them and find out how they can help.
