This is a petition regarding the concerns of the National Railway in Sivis, Illinois. I am aware that the railway provides us with the means to transport goods and materials but the length of these trains and the amount of time they last is beyond rediculous. I sat at a train today for 37 minutes, as it went back and forth inches and stopped several times. It is my understanding this is necessary but i feel that shortening the lengths of the trains would alleviate this problem. I've sat with ambulances...firetrucks...and also medical response teams while these trains sat motionless or moved back and forth. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE !!! Please help to eliminate this problem.

I have been documenting every instance where emergency vehicles are blocked by these trains because the silence from the rail company is becoming impossible to ignore. It is weighing on me to see how many of you have shared your own dangerous delays while waiting for these tracks to clear. We are exhausted by this gridlock but we are going to keep documenting their negligence until they acknowledge the safety risks.

Reaching this level of support honestly feels heavy because it confirms that my own frustration is shared by so many others. I am drained by how long this has dragged on but seeing your names gives me the grit to keep pushing for actual change.

I was charged a late fee to my daycare provider because I couldnt get through. We sat there for over 20 minites.
I have sat at railroad crossings 45 min. Being an ex fire fighter it is a life and death calls that the trains r holding back. To get someone medical attention with-in the golden hr is very important to saving a life. The lengths of these trains r a risk for that golden hr. I understand having trains r important but there has got to be something that can be donr. People run out of gas waiting for these trains to go by. It is ridiculous to load these trains down and not think of the drivers that have to wait for your trains. U all need to think about those who drive those routes daily.
Just so everyone knows u need to go after Iowa interstate about this issue...national railway has nothing to do with the trains all they do is repair and resell old trains...Iowa interstate has their yard down there with national railway. I would love an over pass or something to help with the trains but to go after a company that has nothing to do with the trains is just wrong

I wait on these trains every day, if I don't leave my house at least an hour early go get my kids off to school and me to work I risk being late, and sometimes that's not even enough. There has been numerous days I've waited on 2 or more trains throughout the day. This is ridiculous

If I would have known how to do this a very long time ago I would have! Being that I lived on 13th avenue and 17th street in between both rail tracks, causing me to be late to work multiple times!! It is absolutely ridiculous and very much irritating to sit and watch it go and fourth for half hour at a time multiple times a day!! The fact that you have to either go to darn near rock island to find one end of all the way out to route 5 just to get around it is aggravating in itself! There either need to shorten the lengths of the trains or build a dang overpass somewhere before rock island! Sincerely, Amber Burroughs An aggravated resident
