To the Honorable: Senator Dick Durbin, Cong. Aaron Schock, Cong. Rodney Davis, Gov. Pat Quinn, St. Senator Andy Manar, St. Rep. Susan Scherer, Mayor J. Michael Houston, Ald. Frank Edwards, Ald. We the citizens of the State of Illinois, affirm a dramatic increase in train traffic along the 3rd Street Rail Corridor and in Downtown Springfield, Ill. causing unnecessary disruption to our business activities during the day and the residential wellbeing, especially during the evening hours between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Therefore, we request the following actions be taken by the Illinois Dept. of Transportation and/or other appropriate government entities:

Action One: Conduct a government tabulation of daily train traffic frequency, including time of day along the 3rd Street Corridor commencing no later than Dec. 1st, 2014 and continuing until the Springfield train corridor relocations are completed

Action Two: Establish a Quiet Zone along the 3rd Street Corridor on or before May 1st, 2015 and in Downtown Springfield as soon as possible thereafter.

The train horns at 3am are absolutely crazy. I have to be up for work at 5 and it wakes the whole house up every single night. ENOUGH ALREADY.
