we need the railway line to reduce the number of single occupant cars that congest our roads daily leading to terrible loss of life year upon year !

I have to travel to Portadown everyday to get the train. The train is the the best way to travel into Belfast. A railway line in Armagh would attract new customers from armagh and surrounding areas how won't consider driving to Portadown every morning. Please, please give serious consideration to this proposal.

Rebuilding a rail link to Armagh would undo a great error made in 1957. The Armagh - Portadown road is heavily congested at peak times. The rail link would make upgrading the road unnecessary.

We can not be considered as a thriving "City" when we do not have a basic railway link, no large retailer takes us seriously as Armagh can not reasonably provide substantial footfall.

I was on platform when the last train pulled out of Armagh and over the years I see what the people of Armagh and district have been deprived off.

So needed, its great to get to portadown and have the train into Belfast to get to the airport fast and easy. If it went from Armagh it would save so much more hassle. Do, so, much for Armagh and its population, visitor numbers etc.

Travel in traffic every day. Would use train if train station in Armagh.

Armagh City is big enough for a proper rail service. As someone interested in railway history here, one of the things I've never understood is the lack of guts from the powers in Stormont when it comes to undoing the terrible errors of past politicians who shut railway line after railway line like they were gates or doors. As one of the millennial generation, I've never seen a proper reopening of a railway line here, with the only one I recall being a short line to Antrim which is nothing more than a quick shortcut. There's some closed lines that wouldn't work well today, but there's lines that definitely would, Armagh is one such line, Tyrone should see trains again too. Other parts of the UK have reopened old railways, and the South has reopened line after line even in the midst of a financial crisis down there. Railways are the transport that should be focused on, Armagh City should be reconnected to the network.
