Alpine City Council is considering a developer’s proposal that would connect Lakeview Drive in Alpine to a new development in Draper. The Draper development has 285 proposed homes and connects to Highland Blvd. The only thing preventing traffic from these homes from flowing through Alpine would be a gate. There is no guarantee that the gate will be permanent. This road is not required for the developer to put houses on his land in Alpine.

I live on Lakeview Dr so am very concerned about any future traffic flowing through our neighborhood. We built here twenty years ago with the knowledge that it would just be the cul de sacs on either end of the street.
The developer could have provided a second ingress/egress within Draper and chose to have a single one to have more lots. We in alpine should not be their rescue plan. Make them have dual access within Draper. The additional traffic will add additional costs to Alpine
Please DO NOT allow this access! This would create a traffic nightmare for our neighborhoods. We bought here so we could be in a quiet area. The concept of putting a gate up is ridiculous. We all know how permanent that would be. That is such a joke!
and... the gate will be left open. Alpine does a very poor job of maintaining the road on that side of Lakeview Dr. Increased traffic will cause the broken pieces of road to pop out and subsequently force the city to improve it. This will cost EVERYONE in Alpine!
This development will drastically affect the traffic in Alpine and Highland residential neighborhoods. It will also create terrible strain on our already overcrowded schools. If Draper can't stop saying yes to developers then they really need to start building schools at Suncrest.
Protect our quiet neighborhood from extra traffic not necessary. Bikers need less traffic
Traffic is already heavy. Do now allow an outside outfit to use our neighborhood and Alpine to overcome their mistake, make a profit, go away, leave us with a permanent mess.

I was at the meeting the when the Alpine City Mayor - Troy Stout stood I front of the Draper City Council and said “no access from any city into Alpine City, ever”. Keep your promises to the citizens of Alpine. No access, be it a gate, road, etc. Keep Alpine, Alpine!!!
