Although some may argue that “affordable” housing is a priority in our community, the proposed development in Guajome Park would require significant ecological disruption. This area contains sensitive habitats that support a range of native wildlife, including several vulnerable species including the Long-billed Dowitcher, the Northern Harrier, the Peregrine Falcon, and the Merlin. Construction in Guajome Park would fragment these habitats, reduce biodiversity, and accelerate the decline of local flora and fauna. The long term environmental damage to Guajome Park’s ecosystem outweighs the perceived benefits of building additional “affordable” housing here. We urge decision makers to pursue alternative locations or solutions that do not jeopardize this beautiful natural environment.

Keep the park how it is!! We dont need more concrete crushing all the trail space and scaring off the hawks. Find somewhere else to build.
