Dear Santa Rosa County Commissioners,

We, the undersigned, request that you delete the Alternative Subdivision provision from the Land Development Code: Chapter 4.03.13.I - Alternative Subdivisions (found on pages 217-18).

1. It is important to maintain the minimum lot size and set back requirements in Santa Rosa County established by the Land Development Code.

2. It is important that when purchasing property, people can trust that the characteristics of their neighborhood will not be changed.

3. It is important to protect rural areas in Santa Rosa County.

4. It is important to protect the rights of the people to voice their concerns over changes happening in their neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, adult residents of Santa Rosa County, Florida request that you consider and act upon this item immediately.

I honestly thought I was just shouting into the void when I first typed this up but seeing so many people actually care about our fields and the quiet spaces in this county is genuinely overwhelming. It feels like the tide is finally turning and the folks in charge might actually have to listen to us for once because this momentum is just wild.

I just looked at the count and we are almost at one hundred signatures which is honestly wild because I really thought this would just be me and my neighbors shouting at a brick wall but clearly people are actually paying attention. If you could just grab your phone right now and send the link to a few people on your block it would probably push us over that milestone and show the commissioners that we are not going away quietly.

We moved to Chumuckla a year ago to start homesteading away from the bustle of Pensacola. We're not thrilled about the beauty that drew us here being replaced with cookie-cutter development projects. Commissioners, please fix this.

We should be supporting the farms and farmers vs enticing them to sell. They employ, feed, and cloth our communities. Destroying all of this for a little bit of money will cause more destruction than what it does to the natural environment.

I am not a farmer but I live next to a large farm and I am a firm believer in family agriculture and not a supporter nor fan of suburban sprawl. Please remove the Alternative Subdivision provision in the Land Development code.

We bought in Buffalo Ridge due to the county 1 acre zoning around the area. It is unforgivable to not obey the county regulations on setbacks and 1 acre per dwelling. We will find which commissioners support this and vote you out!

I have seen too many land developers buy farm land only to cram in houses and subdivisions that are not sound in regard to drainage and traffic. In the end, the tax payers are left with the financial burdens to fix the problems left behind.

From Thomas Wichers: Cookie cutter, high density developments add nothing to surrounding area but higher traffic, more flooding and general crowding. It does take away from the rural feel and destroys agricultural land. This abuse Alternative Subdivision provision must stop.
