Please support our organization and sign our petition to stop the Purple and Yellow corridors.

  • Toll 49 is a state & federal highway project intended to be an OUTER LOOP to serve ALL of Smith County. For over 25 years, Smith County residents & new buyers have based their decisions on the Segment 6 proposed Teal Route. The Teal Route remains the most logical and environmentally acceptable progression of the east outer loop completed to Interstate 20.
  • The most densely populated area of homes is on the PURPLE & YELLOW routes.
  • Families of ALL ages will be adversely impacted by the PURPLE & YELLOW routes.
  • The proposed toll road would not be a safe environment for families with young children.
  • Senior living communities (assisted living, independent living & memory care) will be adversely impacted by the unsafe environment of being this close to the proposed Toll Road.
  • Churches & Businesses along the route will be uprooted from their heritage locations.
  • Families who have spent their life savings on buying or building a new home will potentially have their homes destroyed or negatively impacted.

Updates

February 6, 2020

I have spent hours reading through your comments and the personal stories about how these proposed routes threaten your homes are heartbreaking. It is becoming clear that we are fighting to save the very foundation of our community from being paved over by this project.

February 6, 2020

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that our neighbors refuse to let these corridors destroy our homes and peace of mind. I am blown away by the turnout and I know my family feels a lot less alone in this fight today.

Loop 49 is bad for neighbor hood. This would affect our addition because it will be too close. There is a lot of children in our neighborhood that put them in danger when riding bicycles. It will probably lower the value of our homes. It would also make homes hard to sell due to the noise from vehicles. It could cause drainage problems which we do not have now.

Existing Toll Road should have Concrete divider barriers installed before any further discussion of expansion takes place.

The Teal Route is the only route that truly redirects traffic around the current congestion in Tyler and improves future highway infrastructure in the Chapel Hill area.

Much too close to existing new subdivisions and senior living communities. Additionally, it appears to "close in" to allow for any future growth.

Sticking to the teal route is just common sense. The other options are way to close to our house and will ruin the quiet neighborhood we moved here for.

The existing toll road need to be widened and made safer before additional extensions are made.

I am against the yellow and purple route.

No extension would be the best option.
