The state regulators announced today that they are cancelling the offshore wind leases for this coastal zone. We achieved our objective and I am now shifting focus to ensure no replacement projects emerge in this sector during the upcoming legislative session.

As a concerned citizens, we are deeply worried about the potential negative impact of offshore wind energy on our beautiful coastlines and the precious marine life that inhabits our oceans, including whales. While we are in favor of renewable energy and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, we strongly believe that it should not come at the cost of harming our environment and marine life.

Offshore wind turbines have been shown to disrupt the migration patterns of whales, who rely on sound to navigate their way through the ocean. The construction and operation of offshore wind turbines can also harm or even kill marine life through collisions or the displacement of vital habitats.

We urge our government officials and energy companies to prioritize the protection of our coastlines and marine life while also pursuing renewable energy solutions. We must find a way to strike a balance between our energy needs and the preservation of our natural resources. Let us work together to find alternative, more environmentally-friendly solutions that do not pose a threat to our coastlines and the magnificent creatures that call them home.

So We urge you to sign this petition and join me in sending a strong message to our leaders that we will not stand for the potential harm to our environment and marine life caused by offshore wind energy. Together, we can protect our coast, save the whales, and create a sustainable future.

The scale of this support has forced the relevant regulatory committee to acknowledge our request for a formal review. I have secured a meeting with agency representatives to present our primary concerns regarding acoustic disturbance and habitat loss.

Our coastlines are a valuable natural resource that we must work to preserve. Offshore wind turbines have the potential to disrupt important marine ecosystems and threaten the livelihoods of coastal communities.

The potential harm caused by offshore wind turbines to our marine life and coastlines is not worth the minimal energy gains we may receive. We must prioritize the protection of our environment and find alternative solutions.

Offshore wind turbines may be beneficial in reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, but we cannot sacrifice our environment and marine life in the process. Let's find more sustainable solutions.
