Help us Protect our Children by signing this petition to help Walmart decide to let Cal-Ranch use their parking lot.

Years ago, The City of Ammon gave Cal- Ranch permission to build their superstore with a semi-truck access and a public access to the back of the store and also to their public office building. The City of Ammon believed that by the time Cal-Ranch was built, the street John Adams would be connected all the way through, giving a safe road for the Semi-trucks to get into the Cal-Ranch without having to drive through a residential street. Unfortunately that road has not been completed, nor started, and they have started building the Cal-Ranch. The City of Ammon has decided that they have to give these semi-trucks permission to drive through our residential street because there "Is no other way" into the parking lot to unload the trucks, fortunately there might be a way. A SAFER way. If we get enough people to sign then maybe Walmart might decide to let the Semi-trucks use the access between Chuck-A-Rama and Insure It All (off of Hitt Rd.) and drive through the parking lot into the back of the Cal-Ranch Superstore. Why do we need a petition? Well Walmart has been asked previously and they said that their parking lots aren't built for diesel trucks to drive on them, but if it is temporary (because John Adams will eventually be finished) and if they see how much of a public service it would be (by signing the petition) then they might reconsider. There are almost 50 children on that sliver of Curlew road that those Semi-trucks would be driving through and we don't want a child to get hit and killed in order to finally decide that there needs to be another way. Help us Protect our Children by signing this petition to help Walmart decide to let Cal-Ranch use their parking lot.

In no way do I dislike Cal-Ranch or the trucks driving to the store, this petition is simply to change their route to a more convient way for them and safer way for the children on my street; no matter how vigilant someone can be, kids disappear in a matter of seconds and semis cant stop on a dime like a car can.

The feedback from neighbors remains constant and heavy as more stories of near accidents on our street reach me. I am continuing to reach out to the property managers involved even though the process is slower and more draining than I ever anticipated.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you understand the danger these trucks pose to our kids. My back is heavy from the fight but your response proves this request is worth the effort.

If it can be made or done safer, then it should. I'm a trucker and would prefer a route that does not lead me into residential areas and would save lives as well

Obviously you didn't even read the words, I never once questioned a driver's ability, I fully understand how hard it is to drive a semi and the petition is to HELP the drivers have a more convient route. Also, I don't drive a mini van. *You're

As a truck driver myself, residential roads are not big enough or safe enough for these big trucks to travel, hope someone does something before someone gets hurt or worse!

At first when I heard of this petition my first thought was oh my here we go again another truck driver hater who wants there food and supplies to be on the shelf but no trucks on the road but after reading your petition I completely understand your point and have to agree seems like your suggestions and recommended route would be safer and practical trust me there are many places I pick up or deliver to that I wonder who dumb idea it was to build this here I mean some of the places are not even built with the truck access in mind let alone concern for nearby residents children traffic etc so I commend you for your effort

The real issue is that Wal-Mart does not want to have to pay for the inevitable repairs that will result from the increased traffic, since it is a privately-owned parking lot, and not city/county property. A simple agreement from the City to assist in the eventual need should cure the obstinacy.

As an individual that has been driving big rigs, it is not safe to have these machines driving on residential streets. If Walmart's parking lot is not designed for big rig traffic, then how come those big rigs are parking on their lots all over the country, including on this parking lot? How are their products delivered to the store? Driving on residential roads, especially with so many children in the vicinity is VERY DANGEROUS!

Your City had to have had a Hearing on this. You should pay more attention to things and then go voice your yeah's or nay's. It could make a difference, but I doubt it. Move, it is that simple.
