Every day in our neighborhoods (Phillips Creek Ranch and Lonestar Ranch, among others), we see cars flying through our streets with no regard to safety or speed limits. There are no speed bumps on any of the streets and no speed limit signs anywhere. Many of these streets feed into multiple schools, yet only the roads directly next to those schools have school zone limits and/or speed limit signs. People are using these other streets as ways to avoid those school zone limits during the mornings and afternoons, and many speed through the neighborhoods at all other times as well, with nothing to deter them.
Please sign this petition to add speed limit signs, school zone speed limits and any other deterrents to speeders that the county can supply (speed bumps would be ideal). It would be a shame for an incident to be the reason why safety is made a priority in our neighborhood. Please take action and slow traffic down before something happens.
In order of preference, we really want:
1) Speed bumps;
2) School zone speed limit signs and children playing signs;
3) Any other deterrents like speed limit signs (20 or 25 would be ideal; the standard 30mph is too high for such kid-populated areas).

- Bear Lake Road
- Bridle Blvd
- Bunny Run Lane
- Campbell Court
- Canyon Ranch Road
- Cedar Ranch Road

Seeing so many neighbors from Lone Star Ranch join this fight confirms that our streets have become a real danger for our children. I never wanted to be in this position but knowing we are united makes me feel much more confident that we can actually force a change before a tragedy occurs.

Speeding isn't the only issue that needs to be addressed. Many people fail to completely stop or stop at all at the stop signs throughout the neighborhood. One of the worst 4-way stops is at canyon ranch and Eden valley. I live only 4 houses down on Eden valley and see it all the time. Slow down and stop people before someone gets injured or killed!!!!
We are on Cedar Ranch in Layton- across from what will be park & school eventually and we see TONS of speeders cutting through here to get to other sections & the sub contractors/workers with builders are the worst as they FLY through here. People definitely need to slow down before someone gets hurt!
We live in front of the park in Sheridan. There are often kids crossing the street to the park and cars fly by our house way too fast. It is becoming a chronic problem. Something has to happen before a child is hurt.
I would love to add Bear Lake Rd to the list. Cars fly down our street trying to avoid Plum Creeks school zone and my kids are out almost everyday playing. Cars barely stop to avoid them!! It makes me so angry. Thank you for starting this.
Although my youngest is 13, it greatly concerns me to see the speed at which the cars travel in our community without regard of children. Unfortunately, since common sense of safety is not recognized, speed bumps would greatly insure a safer environment for our children and all residents. Thank you for your consideration!
Please add the alley between Prospect and Pritchett in Pearson Farms West. There is one lady in a black car that speeds down the alley at about 40 MPH. The police warned her once to no avail.

I agree that we need to do something about the speed, but it should not be speed bumps. I lived in a neighborhood with them before and it was terrible. I would support posting lower speed limits, and I would support extending the school zone to the other streets. I would especially support any officers that would like to come hang out in our neighborhood to catch the speeders, I cannot support speed bumps, though, so while I agree that we need a solution, I can't sign the petition if our number one solution is speed bumps.
