Project Prevention - Health and Safety Gold Award Project
Kadeesha Cox, a recent graduate of Roosevelt Senior High School in Roosevelt, NY had to create a Gold Award project as the highest achievement you can receive in Girl Scouts. The project must address a problem the girl is passionate about or something she would like to see change. For Kadeesha's project, "Project Prevention", she chose to address the problem of pollution and potential danger in her community with a focus on students. Project Prevention is an effort to enact local legislation to get stop signs and trash receptacles placed in needed areas around Roosevelt's many schools and child care institutions where she felt lacked safety for pedestrians or areas of high traffic with litter where it didn't need to be. Kadeesha has presented her project at many club meetings and other events and already gotten over 100 signatures on paper, let's work to reach the goal of at most 1,000!
By signing this petition, you are supporting Kadeesha's efforts, pushing this project to completion, and making our community an overall safer, cleaner and healthier environment for not only our children walking home from school, but every citizen of the Town of Hempstead.
Thank you so much for your time.
