When you were a child and going to school you learned about laws and history. We were taught that prison/jail existed so that men and women who made mistakes could be rehabilitated so that one day they could become an active and productive member of society. Prison/jail did not exist so that prisoners could be tortured.
Yes, it is true. These men and woman have made mistakes, some more serious than others. However, at the end of the day we are all humans. The Pledge of Allegiance says “…and JUSTICE for ALL.”

This is a great petition, and so meaningful. I was just watching TV showing a programme about child labour in Pakistan. I think big companies - like fashion companies - need to take responsibility to make sure that children are not employed. I feel good to sign this petition.

Too many people just want to lock folks up and throw away the key. Nobody learns anything that way and it just makes things worse for everyone when they get out. Hope this helps change some minds.
