SCAD students are disappointed and frustrated with the attitude towards the university’s returning students. Freshmen, “rising sophomores,” are continuously prioritized over students that have demonstrated and upheld SCAD’s standards and values over years of scholarship. It is crucial to the success of every student enrolled that these thoughtless and disrespectful policies end.

Many of us love our experience here at SCAD and want to see our school continue to be the most successful school for arts and design in the country. In order to do this, it is absolutely essential that SCADhome, SCADcares and all of SCAD’s administrators provide the resources for their hardworking students to succeed.

So many scholarships are tied to housing, meaning many people can't afford to go here if they get kicked out. And everyone moving off campus effectively raises rent and cost of living as well.. There was already a housing crisis last year, this upcoming year’s will only be worse.

Seniors already deal with deadlines and senior projects. They don't need the added pressure of fighting for housing. They are moving in to workforce before anyone else and need all the support they can get to assist them, not hinder them.

I'm a parent of a junior and am dismayed by the administration undercutting this group of students as they approach graduation. Are you thinking you "have them over the barrel" and they'll continue their education regardless of how difficult you make things for them?

As an upperclassman, I find the new housing policies to be insulting to the loyalty me and my upperclassman peers have demonstrated towards SCAD. Seniors and Juniors should be rewarded for their hard work in getting to the last few years here at scad. Not punished.

I will not get shoved aside by SCAD, risking the loss of well earned scholarships, because SCAD wants to prioritize freshmen. This is not fair to the upperclassmen and I should not involuntarily lose my room to someone with far less credits than me.

I’m a mom and knowing my daughter is safe on campus means a lot to me especially since she is 12 hours away from home. Not knowing where she will be laying her head next year scares me! This needs to change!!

This is an insult to the students who have worked hard and just wanted the luxury of better housing or any housing at all

Upperclassmen need placement too. We didn't sign up for this.
