We, the admitted early decision applicants for the class of 2022, strongly stand against the strictly random rooming policy. We applied early decision under the assumption that we would be able to select our roommates, if we wanted to, though it would not have had an effect on our decision to apply ED to Duke.We signed a binding contract assuming we would have this ability and were not warned that it could be taken away. Therefore we believe that the policy should’ve been made aware to us prior to applying and that it should not be enacted this year. We would like to have the opportunity to select our own roommates, a capability we thought was promised when applying. Of course, we are beyond excited to be blue devils! We just wanted to voice our concern.

This is honestly so unfair. We already committed to the school and then they change the rules on us? Really disappointing.
