The town has confirmed that the memorial mural will remain untouched. It is a relief to know that this space will stay a place of quiet reflection for everyone who holds Ravann and Sebi in their thoughts.

The issue is simple and seemingly straightforward: The town of Nags Head is planning to paint over the remembrance wall at Dowdy Park which was painted to honor Ravann and Sebi and their untimely and tragic passing.

This decision seems absolutely unnecessary and especially premature. This beautiful work of art brings all who knew them a little bit of peace and those who didn't an opportunity for reflection. The paint on this wall is still barely dry and shines as vibrantly as the memories it invokes for all of those to whom it gives pause.

We respectfully request that this wall remain in its current state at Dowdy Park in order to preserve the memories of Ravann and Sebi.

Met Kelley back in 2016 while booking our vacation. Have remained in touch over the years. Watched our kids grow on social media. She's my island vacation lady as I call her!! My heart broke for her when losing Rav and Sebi. This wall bought such comfort and joy in their memory. Once again the sadness returns with the wall being painted over.

Reason number one – this is a community park so let the community decide! Reason number two – Ann was a beautiful human being with not a mean bone in her soul, for some reason this just feels mean for people who never met Ann to decide to paint over a beautiful mural remembering her !

Please keep this healing memorial. I remember Mayor Cahoon’s very poignant words regarding this memorial at the unveiling.

It’s beautiful the way it is. Do we have to get rid of all our past history?
