I am currently working on a union program in which brings to light issues in our local communities. My group has chosen to bring to light the issues of the temp agencies. Gone are the good paying jobs that we have experienced in the past only to be replaced by jobs that last maybe days , wrongful dismissal, unsecured work stability, lower wages, unfair hiring procedures , the list goes on. We wish to bring this to the attention of our union so that they may lobby our governments for fairer hiring practises, and maybe these agencies will be more accountable for their actions.
