In contributing to this petition, we as students at Georgetown SFS-Q recognize that little has been done to facilitate parking for students who must commute to campus without a driver or chauffeur. We believe that the university has failed to provide practical solutions regarding parking for its students. The contributors to this petition have at some point experienced issues regarding class attendance sourced from unfair treatment and inability to efficiently enter the building due to laws and regulations prohibiting a student from doing so. We understand that one of the main reasons behind this is the fundamentally flawed bus system. While drop-off facilities are lavishly provided, students who commute to campus are at times forced to wait 30 minutes for the bus, this comes to show how the solution proposed by the university has failed to live up to its purpose. We call for an immediate lenient-inspired change in these regulations that is reasonable as we feel that the university has shown a level of carelessness towards its students' academic performance sourced from the unfair nature of on-campus parking policies.
