The council finally committed to the restoration work we have been fighting for all these years. It has been a long and draining road but we held our ground until they had no choice but to act. I will keep watching to ensure they follow through on these promises.

Our petition was presented to council in November 2021 with all names redacted to maintain your privacy, and as yet council has not provided any substantial response. I have been advised that we need at least 500 signatures for our complaint to be substantial.
With the recent weather events we have lost more foreshore as well as vegetation. Please share so we can get the 500 signatures required. There is no need or obligation to donate to Ipetition as I have already donated.
For 10+ years FCRC had been put on notice of the emergency erosion situation and action should have started 10 years ago.

We hit one hundred signatures today. It feels like a small win in a very long fight that I sometimes worry is unwinnable. We still have a long way to go before the council gives us the time of day.

I have owned my property at Poona for 18 yrs and have seen the foreshore erosion. Well done Murray for helping stop the erosion and the trees. FCRC should be ashamed for not helping to protect Poona foreshore. I support Murray in every way for his efforts in protecting the foreshore and trees.
I contacted local member and fccc months ago about erosion of our foreshore and got nothing of any value in the 30 minute follow up call. They have no plan to stop the erosion. When a few more metres are lost we won't even be able to walk through some areas
I agree, very sad that Poona is so neglected. Unsafe for children as well, with all the fallen trees just left on the beach and Rusty star pickets exposed at the end of the foreshore. Accidents waiting to happen. Erosion getting worse and will continue to happen. I'm happy to sign this petition.
Breaks my heart to see so much neglect by the council the foreshore has sustained. Even in the 2 years I've been coming here to my block I can see a big change. There doesn't seem to have ever been any attempt at all ever to do anything. It's very upsetting.
It's absurd to read that the council and state government might be able to find $5 million for a second boat ramp, but can't find any money to stop the rampant erosion of the foreshore.
It’s ridiculous that the council does nothing to help protect the foreshore.
I see somebody has put a tyre retaining wall around the tree just behind where this picture was taken and it’s still there, and the rest of the bank long gone. If I was the person who did it I’d finish the rest of the off all the way past that old retaining wall, stuff the council

Great work Murray. Council need to either fix it like they did for Hervey Bay or at least tell us what materials we can use to stop it ourselves. Happy to help to put my time and money in if they will let us.
