Hair braiding is not a threat to the health or safety of the people of Utah. However, a legislature that feels it is within their legitimate authority to regulate hair braiding most certainly is. It is an outrage that this statement is even necessary. Petitioning the government for permission to braid hair is not an activity of a free people whose government respects and protects it's natural, God-given liberty. During this legislative session, you will have the opportunity to vote on legislation that will remove hair braiding from the jurisdiction of the state cosmetology board which will allow Utah hair braiders to once again offer their services free from government interference. I strongly encourage you to vote in favor of this legislation. Utah voters deserve representatives who will stand firm in defense of our God-given liberties; I hope I can count on you to do so.
