THE PHOENIX AND SURROUNDING VALLEY YMCA'S ARE DISCRIMINATING AGAINST CHILDREN/YOUTH WITHIN THE SPORTS PROGRAM! The YMCA will not mandate coaches to play kids that have less skill ability equally! A rule in Div. 1 & Div. 2 allows coaches to sit players on the bench 3/4 of every game! Div. 3 does not specify how long a coach has to play a child. The YMCA was founded on Christian principles, which is not being implemented, but ignored, by the Valley of the Sun's YMCA's staff, which includes: The local Y's Executive VP - George Scobas; Executive Vice Pres. and Chief Operating Officer; Pres. & Chief Exec. Officer -Greg O'Brian; Program Dev. Dir. - Julie Starkey; District Exec. Dir. - Charmain Gudgeon These individuals condone discrimination within their organization! The Y advertises that all children/youth get to play. However, they don't tell the parents that their child may sit the bench for most of the game/s, if the coach doesn't want to play them, for any reason!

I have been a volunteer coach for over 13 yrs. I was a founder/director of a non-profit youth sports organization in Texas, due to discrimination from race, status and ability, prior to moving to AZ.
