Plastic bottles are one of the biggest sources of pollution in the world. Currently the only state in Australia that offers a refund for the proper disposal of plastic bottles is South Australia. This has proven to be a highly effective form of reducing plastic waste and should be introduced throughout Australia, starting in the ACT. With the introduction of a refund disposal centre not only will the streets of Canberra become cleaner but there will be a major decrease in the amount of animal deaths related plastic toxins.
