From the 2nd of September 2019, our university will change our placement hours without any consultations taking place with us, the students. I feel this is unfair and we need to make our voices heard. These changes will massively affect us, mentally, emotionally and financial. This petition will be shown to the university once completed.

I just saw the count ticking up and if we hit that next big milestone tonight it will be impossible for them to ignore us when I walk into that office. Please get this in front of anyone else you know right now because the momentum is actually building and we cannot let it fade away while they are still finalizing these reckless decisions.

Not thinking of students. How are students supposed to manage childcare, working, uni work and placement with these type of shifts. We pay for this course, we should be allowed as student nurses to have a say in what’s best for us. No wonder so many student nurses suffer from mental health issues. You forget we work many long exhausting hours for free!!!!

How are student nurses supposed to survive without being able to undertake a part time job now that the bursary has been removed? The student loans for many students does not even cover accommodation costs, there is supposed to be a shortage of nurses so where is the encouragement?!

This is affecting me hugely! I live in Northern Ireland and currently doing my Nursing degree in Liverpool , I get homesick alot and with the changes to placement hrs I will struggle and it will effect me emotionally , mentally and financially. I believe alot of nursing students will drop out or not apply for the degree due to this matter.

This will lower the number of student applying for nursing courses and mentally and physically affect us as student nurses in a negative way .. has nothing been learnt from the tragic incident a few years back ?

Annoyed that we were not consulted first considering we are paying 9 grand a year we should have an input into any changes made to our programme.

Being a student nurse and mother of three, the new changes to placement hours will make finding childcare even more difficult than it already has been. The lack of communication or consideration for the diverse backgrounds ljmu students come from is genuinely saddening!
