This is a petition to KEEP the current semester and examination periods on our courses at Leeds Metropolitan University. An email received by all Level 4 and 5 students by the University on 4th Dec 2013, was the first the overwhelming majority of students and many lecturers knew about the timetable changes. The proposed changes would mean taking exams in January for many courses.

Please sign to KEEP OUR CURRENT TIMETABLES FOR 2014.

the Christmas holiday period is too long to retain information without any tutor contact time on the subject to come back and then sit an exam on the subject. On top of this, I find it takes time to get back into the university routine after a long break, and wouldn't like to drag out the topics from first time would rather have a fresh mind from the break to start new modules.

I am an international student and the new exam periods will obstruct me to go to see my family in the winter holiday

You forget what you learn before the holiday so when you go into the exam you have forgotten everything.

All information that we gain in first semester will be lost when we come back after Christmas. Not a lot of people will revise over Christmas and we won't have revision sessions with out tutors in that period of time
