IN RECENT TIMES, MY FRIENDS AND I, WHO ARE AVID FISHERMAN, FOUND OURSELVES SPENDING GAS AND TIME AND BECOMING FRUSTRATED, BECAUSE PLACES LIKE THE BRIDGES ON KEY BISCAYNE, SOUTH POINT PIER [CLOSED DURING
NON-WORKING HOURS] AS WELL AS THE ENTIRE BEACH FRONT PROPERTY, ARE NON-DESIGNATED FISHING AREAS. DURING THE DAY IT\'S FOR SWIMMERS AND AT NIGHT THE POLICE CHASE PEOPLE WANTING TO FISH, AWAY FROM THAT AREA.
SOME OF THESE AREAS DO NOT ONLY PROHIBIT US FISHERMEN FROM ENJOYING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE BUT EXPOSE US TO BEING FINED [HOW ABSURD].
THE CLOSING OF THESE BRIDGES AND PIERS TO FISHING HAS LEFT US WITH NO PLACE TO GO TO ENJOY SOME PEACE AND PLEASURE. THESE AREAS IN SOME CASES ARE FENCED OFF AND DISPLAYING SIGNS WITH FINES, IF CAUGHT FISHING.
THERE WAS A TIME WHERE YOU COULD PACK UP A SIMPLE LUNCH, GRAB THE KIDS, AND HEAD OUT TO YOUR FAVORITE FISHING SPOT ---------- NO LONGER. WITH GAS PRICES ELEVATED, MORTGAGES ELEVATED, NOT TOO MANY CAN AFFORD TO RENT, MUCH LESS, BUY A BOAT, TO BYPASS THESE RIDICULOUS RULES.
IN THE CAPITAL OF THE FISHING WORLD, IT\'S AMAZING HOW THE FISHING FOLLOWING IS BEING PUSHED ASIDE, INSTEAD OF BEING PUSHED AHEAD AND ASSITING US IN CREATING \"FISHING SANCTUARIES\"
WE ASK THAT ALL FISHERMEN, BOATLESS OR NOT, JOIN IN OUR MISSION TO BRING BACK OUR

The beach should be access aviable to all citizens, I would rather my kids to fish than to go steal or do drugs.

I too agree that the fisherman has the right to fish off the beach. I am not a Florida native and only come down here to visit, but I have found too many regulations being enforced for too few. Give the citizens their beach back!

Resident fishermen and women pay taxes too. We're here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year where as a tourist is here by the week or month. Give us some where to go fishing because we are the ones who sustain this weak economy full time!! Give us that respect!

Ridiculous to keep us off bridges that have been there forever. People just want to relax after work and catch a few fish. Stop treating us like criminals for having a hobby.
