Petition to include $200,000 in Mendham Township Budget for Pickle Ball Courts

Please use this petition to support $200,000 in funding of quality pickle ball courts in the upcoming 2022 Mendham Township capital budget. The amount equates to $100 per residence or $10/year spread over 10 years. The Township has to date proposed to "trial" demand for courts by adding lines and using portable nets on existing courts and deciding later whether to fund permanent courts. Given the growing popularity and the long lead time to build quality permanent courts, we are asking the "trial" period to be forgone and begin planning and execution for permanent courts immediately.

Over the years the Township has provide significant financial support of a full slate of recreational activities for township youth including playgrounds, ball fields and recently upgrading the Brookside beach. The $200k request is a fraction of what is being spent on other recreational activities and addresses an underserved demographic need in the Township.

Importantly, if you respond affirmatively to this petition, please include your address in the comment section to confirm residence in the Township.
