This is a request to the town of North Salem for funding part of the construction cost for 2 paddle tennis courts in North Salem for the use of our citizens. Paddle tennis is a popular and growing sport in many areas of the country. Our recently formed North Salem Paddle Tennis Association (NSPTA) is over 40 members today and growing rapidly. Our mission is to make paddle tennis a family-friendly recreational sport here in North Salem and grow our membership. As part of our charter, we have undertaken fund-raising efforts from members, private citizens, sports associations, small businesses, and corporations to supplement the funding we are requesting from the Town of North Salem. In addition to the below signatures, please find our detailed project plan that includes multiple bids from experienced paddle tennis court constructors and our budget plan. We, the undersigned, are active citizens who urge our leaders to act now to help us fund the construction of 2 paddle tennis courts in North Salem. This will provide not only an important town asset that can be used by many residents, it will promote a unique sport that allows entire families and people of all ages to stay active throughout the entire year.
