It is my recollection that Dr Peppard DONATED the open space for a community park, and sold the other half for housing. I also recall the National Park Service RTCA program design plans in collaboration with the county/city and other stakeholders to develop a community park.

I live at 1205 Morning Drive. The open space should be utilized for the community as a park, not more residential!!!

This area is not sufficient for additional developments. Please take the time to see the congestion and poorly designed infrastructure already impacting this area at all times of the day. Please consider other vacant land that can accommodate the purpose for this development. South Meadows and our open space is not conducive. Help us maintain our quality of life and investment in the area.

We the people of Santa Fe. I mean born and raised don't want anymore apartments condos housing developments that are putting too much strain on locals being able to stay, live comfortably because rents are ridiculously expensive. Rhe drought has caused all of us to be responsible. And now too many people will also put a strain on water supply. That doesn't matter to the ones getting rich off our beloved city. So no more. Enough is enough

I don’t want the open space behind my home developed. There’s already too much development going on. Perhaps the powers that be should re-visit and re-locate affordable housing to the North side of town.

On a recent walk of the 22 acre park, we found radiological contamination, most likely from the closed Eberline facility. When will the contamination be cleaned up?

Public money was used to purchase the land for a park. It needs to remain the South Meadows Open Space.

Please keep this land as an open space for the community that needs and deserves a park. There is a current construction project between 599 and South Meadows next door to El Camino Rael Elementary school. This apartment project will produce (465) apartments. There is also a proposed apartment project across the street from this apartment project that will host another (8) buildings or so with another (400) or so apartments. I personal believe this was poor city planning putting 800 apartments right next to an elementary school is not safe environment for our children.

Open land is precious and we need to keep it while creating growth. We can have both!

The open space is vital in community health. This is the one place where kids can ride their bikes and run around and parents don’t worry about getting hit by speeding vehicles in the neighborhood. The one place where neighbors can run and exercise freely or just take a walk to get out of the house. This space was critical during the pandemic. If this space is used to build more homes you will just be adding to the already congested traffic on this road. It’s already bad enough before adding more people and a school! Doing so would be putting kids in more danger because of the traffic.

I grew up on Jemez Road when it was called Acres Estates and everything on the south side was a dirt road. Today, the south side is so congested and traffic is insane. More homes and another school is a terrible idea.

The area is already congested enough without adding to it. We need to keep as many open spaces as we can.

We DONT need more schools or buildings. Keep the space open!! There’s enough traffic in the mornings to go to our schools near by.

Traffic is already overwhelming on South Meadows Rd, especially considering the 355-unit Madera Apartments that will soon be completed on this same road. This piece of open space is critical to the existing neighborhoods that already exist on South Meadows Rd. We are becoming more crowded and losing every sliver of property to play with our children and walk our pets on. Please do not overcrowd our already over crowded / excessive traffic area, or eliminate our already public-utilized and scarce open space.
