Petition summary and background

The Highlands POA has grown large and continues to grow. The current amenities are already not large enough for the whole community. To remedy that, we request Landmark 24 release Savannah Highlands from the POA. Savannah Highlands has 200 homes and land was recently cleared for the next phase (not last phase) and its 280 more homes. Savannah Highlands is/will be the largest HOA in the community. With our growth, it will require the POA to build more amenities which will be added cost to the POA. Savannah Highlands is the last community at the end of Highlands Blvd, so removal would not disrupt the integrity of the POA. Once removed, we would explore our own options to build our own amenities. We would request we are not removed from the POA until our developers who run our HOA approve the sale of land as well as obtaining a loan for amenities.

Action petitioned for:

We, the undersigned, are concerned residents who urge Landmark 24 to act now to and allow us to be removed from the POA.

By signing this petition, I do certify and affirm that I am the owner of the property and hereby submit my name to this petition to remove Savannah Highlands from the Highlands POA.. I understand that it is important that we are current or will get current on our annual / quarterly dues. This project cannot be successful without all residents doing their part.

This all sounds good on paper and in theory but I need to understand how it will all work. First is the land, house plots were 35k. How many plots will we need to purchase. Second is paying for it, email from Mark stated pay in cash or finance. I doubt we will get the cash from community to buy outright, could be wrong. If not outright who will finance and carry the debt? Once all that is figured out where will we get 1.5 million to build it? Who will finance the mortgage on it. This is the hard part, all about the money. We all want it but how to we get financing. I'll be standing by to see how it all goes. Thank you Jasmine for running with it.

I would like to see Savannah Highlands community gated and amenities just for Savannah Highlands residents. Especially considering the new homes about to be built.

Our HOA amenities must be comparable to the POA amenities. HOA amenities must be gated and include a keycard that is locked when dues are not paid. I also request a community garden be a part of the amenities where homeowners may pay an additional fee to have space to grow vegetables, herbs, and fruit. This is something that if done correctly will increase sales and resales in the community.

I would like for us to separate from the current POA because they are no longer able to handle to amount of people that are servicing in the area. We are a large neighborhood and still growing we need our own amenities. The current POA cannot handle the amount of people with the pool and especially the parking.

We would very much like to see this happen in our community. Like a lot of other families, we have our concerns about location and costs but we are willing to invest in anything that will make our community better. Also putting in a suggestion that the amenities include a gym, playground, pool and basketball court. I've also seen the statements about the # of lots needed to pull this off. The number 3 seems to be popular but would that include parking? 3 just doesn't sound like enough especially considering how the developers are planning for very small lots in these new neighborhoods.

I feel this is fair to all homeowners in Savannah Highlands. It is unfair that we have to pay for the community center that's not worth using!
