Petition to Protect Canyon and Ocean Views

We, the undersigned homeowners and residents, respectfully request that Palisair Homeowners Accociation uphold the long-standing precedent of protecting the beautiful Canyon and Ocean views that contribute to the value and enjoyment of our community.

A proposed home located at 1055 El Medio is currently under review for approval that would significantly obstruct these views. If this construction is approved, it will set a harmful precedent, allowing future developments to further diminish the scenic beauty that our community treasures.

We believe it is vital to:

1. Preserve the aesthetic value and character of our neighborhood.

2. Protect the property values that are closely tied to these views.

3. Maintain the commitment to open spaces and views that has been upheld by the Palisair Homeowners association in the past.

By signing this petition, we urge Palisair Homeowners Association and the relevant decision-makers to reject this home’s current design and any future projects that will block the Canyon and Ocean views. Let us continue to uphold the precedent that has made our community a beautiful and desirable place to live.

Thank you for your attention and commitment to protecting our shared environment.

Updates

October 7, 2024

The board has officially acknowledged our concerns regarding the El Medio project. Now is the time to email your representatives directly to demand they uphold the existing view protection guidelines. Please call your local association board member today to ensure they understand this neighborhood will not accept these obstructions.

October 7, 2024

We hit a tipping point today that proves our community will not sit back while our canyon and ocean views are threatened. Please post this link on your Facebook feed and text three neighbors right now to keep this pressure on the association board.

Both of these homes are substantially larger than any homes in the immediate area and are out of character for the neighborhood. They may set a precedent for even huger home construction in the future. Our homeowners association exists in part to protect our canyon views. These two homes will detract from the natural canyon views that currently exist and will negatively impact the property value of our home at 1081 Palisair.

Our ocean view was stolen by a new build a few years back. Happy to sign and be a part of the mission to protect these views!

We believe, in general, property owners should have wide latitude in the design of their home or remodel. However, in Palisair, the CC&Rs clearly intend that latitude to end where it interferes with a neighbor's view.

I completely agree that these homes are excessive in size, are interfering with the ocean and canyon views of neighboring properties, and are out of scale and character with the existing homes in the immediate area. I think these homes will negatively impact quality of life and property values on Palisair Place.

Our views are protected under the CC&R’s. We need our PHOA to uphold the CC&R’s in every respect.

It is imperative that our PHOA Board adhere to and respect the CC&R’s when reviewing potential property development .

Agree completely. Seems the CC&Rs are not being adhered to in many cases.
