The university has decided to keep the art shop open. It has been a long and exhausting fight to get here but your backing made the difference in proving how vital this resource is to our work. We will keep watching to make sure they hold to this promise.

Final supporters
The art shop is widely used both publicly and throughout the university within various art-and-design based courses including but not limited to BA(Hons) Fine Art, BA(Hons) Surface Pattern, BA(Hons) Cartoon and Comic Arts and BA(Hons) Graphic Design to name a few AND in various other academic courses available at the university. It is a great source of art materials and equipment located on campus for easy access for students and non-students alike. It offers a great range of materials at affordable prices.
With upcoming graduate exhibitions, showcases and other small exhibitions within the courses available, the potential closure of this shop would greatly impact both the students and the quality of student's works.

Reaching five hundred signatures feels like a heavy weight lifted off my shoulders because I was starting to lose hope. It is exhausting to fight this alone but looking at these names reminds me why we have to keep pushing against the administration. I am still tired but this gives me the fuel to keep going.

I have been using the art shop since my student days over 20 years ago!! This is such a valuable resource, please don't allow it to close. Staff in the shop always offer advice on choice and use of materials and will order in items they don't stock.
This Art Shop has been beyond helpful over the past few years of being here, and is an asset to be appreciated abd cherished, it's also the most ideally located for students, it's OUR right to have one, we pay more than enough tuition for it!
This is a crazy idea! I'm an ex student of Staffs Uni and there really is nowhere, locally, to buy the same range of materials at such good STUDENT prices! This would be a disaster and WILL have a detrimental affect on students work and grades, don't do it!
Why would you do something which effectively prohibits students from gaining the best possible degree outcomes? Buying on sure saves students time and money. Without it, I know I wouldn't been able to afford all the materials I needed to for my degree.
I am a local designer maker and Staffordshire university Alumni, I regularly use the art shop and feel it is an integral part of the art community and very valuable resource for students and local artist alike closing it would be a terrible idea!
We need our art shop and the people that run it.

Although I have left staffs uni now, I know how vital thus little shop was for me! There isn't really anywhere else to purchase specialist equipment local to the uni and a trip up Hanley or waiting for something to be posted wastes valuable time creating!
