TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF MARION, OHIO: Bob Nunnally was a well-known TV personality and meteorologist in central Ohio. He was also a Marion native and lived with his parents through high school on Cass Avenue (now Martin Luther King Jr Ave). He was a member of the Marion Harding High School class of 1974. Bob returned often to Marion and became one of the fixtures of the Popcorn Festival.
Bob passed away in late 2024 after a long illness.
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that MLK Avenue be renamed Bob Nunnally Way and that the park on that street be named after him as well. As an alternative, we petition Council to suggest a suitable and similar memorial.

Bob has continued to be a best friend for 50 years beyond high school. As a Harding grad, I hope Council will agree to a suitable memorial for one of Marion's shining gems.

By force of personality alone, Bob Nunnally was one of the most positive ambassadors Marion ever had during the second half of the Twentieth century and first part of the 21st. Even and especially during challenging times in Marion’s history, Bob never ran away from his Marion roots. No, Bob Nunnally continued to fully embrace them, to the betterment of the city. This renaming would be a wonderful and fitting tribute to this son of Marion.
