The Country Music Hall of Fame continues to ignore a legend who built the foundation of this genre while they focus on industry favorites. I am tired of the silence from their board because Doug Kershaw earned his spot decades ago. I refuse to stop pushing until they acknowledge the man who changed music forever.

If Jimmy C. Newman, Jimmie Davis and other departed legends in the CMHOF who knew Doug in the day could vote, the Louisiana Man would win in a landslide. Doug took his style of country music ALL OVER THE WORLD. Don't be Diggy Diggly Lo, give Doug Kershaw his due!

Doug's career has spanned six decades and without his influence it could be argued that Cajun music would still dwell in obscurity instead of being the exciting, heartwarming presence it's been.

Doug Kershaw is the reason I wanted to play fiddle when I was a kid ... and I'm now lucky enough to have one of his fiddles for my very own. He's an inspiration, a true talent, and a gentleman. It's past time to honor the Ragin' Cajun.

Long overdue, Doug AND Rusty should BOTH be in the Hall for their contributions to country-, Americana and music in general, including their maintaining and promoting the appreciation of the Cajun influence on American music.

I have been a fan since the mid 70's, and his music is always playing in my brain. My Mom met him and took care of his wife when one of his sons was born, she told me then that he was the kindest man she ever met. That was an inspiration to me in life as much as his music

We were playing at the State fare in Sacramento in 1995 for the Murphy Irish dancers afterwards I played with this guy we had a jam by the pool at our hotel until 4.30am. First time I saw someone play a fiddle behind their back. Superb!

I was born in 1953 and grew up on country music. Doug is one of the greats and has far too long been overlooked!
