Southwest Louisiana has an infrastructure problem that needs solving! Approximately 53,000 vehicles cross the I-10 Calcasieu Bridge per day with an anticipated increase of 72,000 vehicles per day over the next decade. The bridge is experiencing problems with declining capacity and increased congestion. It also poses safety concerns including reduction of lanes, no shoulders, steep roadway grades and low vertical clearance.

Absolute idiots at ladotd. Not a damn thibg wrong with210 that cant wait. I 10 should have been replaced 20 years ago. It was never intended to be a interstate bridge. It was a us hwy bridge. No shoulders. Too high too dangerous
Everyone in the Lake Charles area seems to agree that the I-10 bridge is unsafe. Everyone except the people with the actual authority to fix it. This needs to be a priority. What kind of tragedy has to happen to take the concerns about the bridge seriously?
Have lived here all my life (over 60). I had the unfortunate opportunity to be out of my car on I10 bridge maybe 30 years ago, that was scary, the shaking of that bridge was to much then. I know that maybe expected but what could it be now?
I live in Baton Rouge, and have family in East Texas that I visit often. The condition of this bridge has me taking what is at least a half-hour detour each time I venture through Lake Charles. A new bridge cannot be postponed.
The Calcasieu Bridge not only serves as the energy corridor, it also is the Gate Way to the South when traveling from the West. We as a State and City are on borrowed time with regards to the structural integrity of this bridge. It is not a gamble I want to live with.
Much needed.
I travel from Louisiana to Texas frequently. Please fix this bridge.

I think doing ANY bridge work on the existing bridges during this economic boon will be nothing short of traffic pandemonium. Wait until after the SASOL expansion is finished. Then build a completely new I-10 bridge while keeping the current one open.
