Petition to Fast Track a NEW I-10 Bridge in Southwest Louisiana

Much needed.

I travel from Louisiana to Texas frequently. Please fix this bridge.

It is high time to upgrade this old boy. He has served his purpose. We are blessed to have had it, but upgrade time is by far here.

This bridge is a death trap. Outside of it's battered pavement, outdated two-lane, divided four-lane construction, mangled side rails and barriers that are shorter than the average truck. The bridge has no lights, and not one emergency shoulder on either side. This is bridge is on one of the nations most traveled interstates, and sees millions of vehicles a week! Passengers of a stalled vehicle are trapped with no way to exit the, without being struck by oncoming traffic. There is barely enough room to stand, much less pull over. If an accident occurs and blocks both lanes, EVERYONE is trapped, as there is no way to go around. It is a tragedy, with epic loss of life and devestation, waiting to happen.

Fix the bridge please before thousands lose their lives.

Please fix the bridge before tragedy strikes.

I will not drive over that bridge again until ist is replaced. Knowing how government works, they will probably sait till a tragedy hits or they are working on the I210 bridge b efore they will start on the I10 bridge thus creating a horrible traffic issue. Replace the bridge now!

I would truly hate to lose someone I love or for anyone to die on this travesty we call a bridge!

My son drives across this bridge - I would be the first to sue Louisiana given the HUGE amount facts that exist about this corroded bridge - if it collapsed with him on it!

This bridge cannot handle the traffic that passes over every day. Please act quickly.

This bridge is between me and half my family, I'd rather it not collapse while any of us are on it.

Which high school or college will loose its football or basketball team into the river because of this aged bridge? Please study and create the plan to replace it, then do it, before a major tragedy occurs...

Alot of tourist uses this bridge to travel from texas into louisana, and other southern states they are not going to check the bridge structure They are going to trust the bridge structure so unless you want a bunch of lawsuits for knowing there was a problem and doing nothing you need to make the necessary changes to that bridge

I travel the I 10 bridge in Lake Charles twice a day, 5 days a week. It is in horrible shape and we all know it. The population in this area has significantly increased there fore the traffic on this bridge has risen. It is only a matter of time that it fails. IT IS UNSAFE!

Fix the bridge or replace it

1 there is NO need for a 135’ Tall bridge NONE 2if they started today it would take 10 yrs too complete 3 the state has the money and even if they don’t why would any state risk the lives of they population? Everyone is tought safety is first no matter of the COAST on every job so WHY is this so different??

We need this

Why can't they build a drawbridge like The Ellender bridge to address the idea of letting the one tug boat in that goes up the river once a year ? Also build. It North of its position now so that the EDC chemicals in the soil will not be disturbed.

I hope I'm not on it if it collapses.
