We, the undersigned residents of Laguna Beach, support the creation of a pedestrian zone on Forest Avenue between Glenneyre and Pacific Coast Highway. We believe that a vehicle-free plaza would enhance the vitality of our downtown by creating a beautiful, dynamic, sustainable and festive gathering place for both residents and visitors. We favor a design that is visually appealing, understated, flexible, and representative of Laguna’s forward-thinking tradition, and love of nature, art and community. Furthermore, in support of downtown merchants, we believe that additional parking should be created within a convenient distance to more than compensate for the existing parking on Forest Avenue. WALK FOREST! SHOP FOREST!

I would love this. I am 30+ resident and I know that the money in Laguna is here to stay, I just wish it could co exist with the charm and friendliness that Laguna had years ago. I would love a more inviting vibrant Forest Avenue.

I have lived in town since 1978. So any residents have been longing for a little bit of European flare to our quaint town. A pedestrian street on Forest is just the ticket to that end. It doesn't hurt to try and see how it affects the retailers and how much the residents will LOVE it!

I've been pushing for the creation of a pedestrian-friendly Forest for 20 years. Certainly, we'd need to replace lost parking and ensure it didn't become a campsite or circus environment of "performers", but if done right (as it has been in many places around the Country), it could be amazing and a windfall for residents, visitors and business.

Fantastic idea. Every major tourist destination city has figured out that car free zones are huge wins for everyone. I know that there are some merchants outside of the Forest area that have concerns that closing Forst will be too successful and hurt their business. I don't believe that is true and we need to test to see what works for Laguna.

I'm 100% for this! News says sales are down for retailers this summer, why not try something new? My daughter goes to school in Boulder, Colorado where they have Pearl Street closed off to cars, just shops and restaurants and musicians and lots of pedestrians! It's great and definitely a destination area. Restaurants are always booked and shops busy. The sooner the better!!

Hospitality Night is always so fun and Forest Ave is alive when that part of the street is closed. I support doing it year 'round!

This is SUCH a good idea, I cannot understand why anyone would even oppose it! It's modern and fantastic, and gives a wonderful community feeling to be able to mill around and enjoy one of the most beautiful beachfront shopping and dining areas in the USA!!!!
